for the world custard pie championships

It was pies a-plenty this week at Coxheath
village hall as training for this year's World Custard Pies
Championships started.

Training was taken seriously with contenders practising
splatting techniques and discussing costume ideas.

Alasdair Smith, the reigning World Custard Pie
Champion, was also in training desperate to keep his hands on
the trophy.

The event takes place on May 22nd and organisers want more
people to sign up.

"I trained a lot before the event last year," says the current
champion. "For at least five minutes, I'd say!"
