A woman has been cut free from her car after a crash in Maidstone last night.

Fire crews from Maidstone used hydraulic cutting equipment to release the woman, in her 50s, after the smash.

The collision involved two cars, a black Renault Megane and a blue Volkswagon Golf.

It happened in Sittingbourne Road at the junction of Queen Anne Road at about 6pm.

The woman suffered neck pain and was taken to Pembury Hospital.

Two other people were also taken to hospital as a precaution.

The road remained partially closed until about 9pm, when the cars were removed from the scene.
