The fixtures for the 2013/14 season are released on Wednesday and Gills boss Martin Allen can’t wait.

Gillingham kick-off their League 1 campaign on Saturday, August 3 and, for Allen, it can’t come soon enough.

“I can’t wait, I am bored stiff now,” said the title-winning boss.

“I wish we could start playing football now. I am fed up and didn’t want the season to end.

“I just can’t wait for the fans to come back again to Priestfield. The season ticket sales are fantastic and at the football club everything is moving in the right direction on and off the field.

“The chairman has really been involved off the field, trying to make it better for the supporters, getting more staff in off the field to try and bring more people into Priestfield and rebuild the club.

“On the field, we are looking strong and I cannot wait for those fixtures. I just wish we could have been playing on Saturday.”

Fans can see the full fixtures online at www.kentonline.co.uk/gillingham from Wednesday at 9am.
