Sittingbourne will be playing their football in Ryman League Division 1 North next season after the FA confirmed allocation of clubs for steps 1-4 on Friday afternoon.

It means Bourne will be playing Kent derbies against Chatham - as well as newly-promoted Erith & Belvedere and VCD - but they miss out on potentially lucrative derbies against the likes of Whitstable, Herne Bay and Faversham.

After the FA's review of step 5 football, they decided to increase the teams in the Ryman League's step 4 divisions to 24 clubs next season, meaning the Kent clubs will all have 46 league games to get through.

The impact that will have on the Kent League is as yet unknown as the line-up for step 5 next season is yet to be announced by the FA.

Other new teams in Division 1 North are Barkingside and Burnham from the Essex League, and Dereham Town from Eastern Counties League while Potters Bar have been moved across to the Southern League.

The six Kent clubs that remain in Division 1 South will be travelling to Guernsey for a league fixture after their place was confirmed following promotion from the Combined Counties League.

Other new teams in the division are relegated pair Carshalton and Hastings along with Sussex League pair Peacehaven and Redhill. Walton Casuals were reprieved despite finishing bottom last season.

Elsewhere, the line-up for Dover, Bromley and Tonbridge in Conference South was confirmed with Bishop's Stortford moving back to the southern section from Conference North while newly-promoted Maidstone United and Thamesmead have had the line-up for the Ryman League Premier Division confirmed.
