Lordswood secured runners-up spot in the Shepherd Neame Kent League Premier Division in the final round of matches on Saturday.

They defeated Sevenoaks Vine by 145 runs with Fabian Cowdrey taking the lead role. Playing against his former club, Cowdrey scored 120 and Zac Elkin added 79 as Lordswood made 275-6 from their 50 overs. The Sevenoaks batsmen then failed to come up to scratch as the home side were dismissed for 130.

Hartley Country Club, already crowned champions, ended their season in style by amassing an impressive 357-3 against relegated visitors Whitstable.

Jake Hutson hit his maiden Premier Division century and Dan Stickles scored 110 to help boost Hartley to their big total. Whitstable could only manage 172 in reply as Hartley finished off with a 185-run victory.

Two other batsmen also scored final-day centuries. Kent player Daniel Bell-Drummond scored a superb 113 as Blackheath defeated Beckenham by 69 runs at the Rectory Field.

Bell-Drummond led Blackheath’s recovery from 24-3 to 255-7, a target which Beckenham rarely looked like achieving despite the best efforts of Will MacVicar (68).

At Bromley, opener Will Morgan blasted an unbeaten 119 off just 68 balls to lead the home side to a 10-wicket success over Bickley Park who had made 154-8 batting first.

Bexley ended their season on a high with a 151-run victory over Sibton Park. Maruf Chowdhury and Min Patel both scored half centuries as Bexley set their visitors 254 to chase, and already-relegated Sibton’s season came to a sad end as they were dismissed for only 102.
