Dynamos coach pins hopes on rival's match

Invicta Dynamos head coach Kevin Parrish is calling on rivals Streatham Redskins to do his side a double favour this weekend as he targets a place in the ENIHL play-off final.

Invicta’s remaining game away against Cardiff on Saturday will be meaningless if Peterborough defeat Streatham.

However, a win for Parrish’s side, coupled with a double win for Streatham over Peterborough on Saturday and Sunday would pave the way for Invicta to top the south group, courtesy of a better head-to-head record over the Redskins.

"We are looking for Streatham to do us two favours," admitted Parrish. "Their first game is likely to finish before ours so I’ll know if we still have a chance when my phone beeps.

"We want to make sure we win our game first, though, before we start thinking about what’s going on in Peterborough."

Glen Jackson has been confirmed as Invicta’s starting goalie for Saturday’s clash but missing through injury will be Karl Lennon (dislocated shoulder), Joe Allen (cut artery) and Tomas Hentek, who is flying back to Slovakia to visit a knee specialist.

If Saturday’s results go Invicta’s way, the final group game between Streatham and Peterborough will be crucial but Parrish confessed he was unlikely to attend.

"I’m not particularly liked down at Streatham so I can just imagine the kind of reception I’d get from their fans if I turned up there to watch," he said.
