Gillingham have cancelled the contracts of development squad players Ashley Miller and Jack Parter.

Striker Miller is expected to take up a chance to play in America following his release.

He progressed through Gills' centre of excellence and made his senior debut against Wycombe Wanderers in November 2010, aged 16.

He scored his first league goal in a 4-3 defeat by Crewe two years ago, the only time he found the net in six appearances.

He's spent time on loan at non-league sides Ramsgate, Hythe, Tonbridge and Maidstone.

Full-back Parter played in a number of pre-season friendlies for the first team but leaves without playing a competitive game for the club.

He has had loan spells with Ramsgate and Whitstable.
