THE Gillingham-based Invicta Dynamos ice hockey team will look to leapfrog Swindon Lynx in the table this weekend when the two meet on Saturday at the Link Centre.

The following evening at the Ice Bowl the Mos entertain the Nottingham Lions in a rearranged home fixture.

The Medway outfit have already beaten both sides 4-1 this season, but Swindon on their own home ice are a whole different proposition.

Duane Ward was man of the match in last month's meeting at the Ice Bowl, bagging a hat-trick and the Canadian forward is on fire at the moment with another hat-trick last weekend against Isle of Wight.

Player coach Carl Greenhous said: "We will be hard pressed to come away with two points on Saturday as Swindon are tough to beat at their place, but Duane's in a hot streak of form and our defence is playing superbly so we'll see.

"Our squad is in great shape and with Stuart Low returning we have a full compliment of players for the first time in more than a month."

Since the last meeting Swindon have swooped to sign netminder Gregg Rockman, a 20-year-old back-up goalie from British National League side Coventry Blaze.

He will offer competition to current Lynx number one netminder Jamie Thompson who is back playing after a two-year break and Dan Shea. Rockman made his debut against Telford last weekend and was named man of the match in the 10-6 win.

Forward Rob Lamey, who has been called up to the full Great Britain senior squad, will miss the Mos' visit as he will be taking part in the latest round of Euro Challenge matches in Hungary.

Greenhous is honest about the team's chances and said: "We have really turned it around and that's a reflection on my players' character. There's a palpable sense that we can compete with any side in this league and do well.

"Even if we don't get anything at Swindon we will bounce back the following evening against Nottingham, of that there's no doubt."
