Kent Cricket League, Premier Division round-up

Brent Arnel proved unplayable as the Beckenham bowler finished with the outstanding figures of 6-1 on Saturday.

His blistering performance helped dismiss Sevenoaks Vine for 121 after they won the toss and elected to bat.

Arnel claimed Vine’s opening pair, both trapped leg before, and dismissed No.3 Michael Barber for a golden duck.

Barber was one of four Vine batsmen who failed to score and Arnel claimed seven maiden overs from his eight.

In reply, Beckenham’s Kent star Alex Blake cracked 75 runs from 58 balls, to guide his side home to victory inside 20 overs.

Hartley stay top after their six-wicket victory over Bexley.

Bexley were inserted and they set Hartley a target of 201 but it proved nowhere near enough as the leaders knocked the runs off with for loss of four wickets and 15 overs to spare.

Defeat for Bexley sees them fall further behind the leaders, now sitting in third and 64 points adrift.

Bickley Park, in second place, kept up the pressure on the leaders by beating Sibton Park by 142 runs.

Daniel Magin scored a run-a-ball 80 for Bickley as they made 247-6 from their 50 overs.

Sibton Park offered little resistance in reply and were bowled out for 105, with Steve Hickmott’s 49 in stark contrast to his team-mates.

No other Sibton player made double figures with Nayan Doshi (4-18) impressing in his 10-over spell.

Rain stopped play between Bromley and Blackheath, in a game that looked to be heading for a tight finish.

Blackheath won the toss and batted first, putting on 262-8 from their 50 overs. Jahid Ahmed (74) and Aiden Blizzard (64) had top scored for the Heath.

In reply, Bromley were on 220-5 with nine overs remaining before the weather intervened.

Bottom side Whitstable were bowled out for just 70 at the Belmont against Lordswood, with Adeel Hussain (4-17) and Daniel Masters (3-21) having plenty of success against the strugglers.

Lordswood opener Zac Elkin (41) carried his bat as the Medway side completed the chase in 17 overs.
