Kent Kings’ last home meeting of the season saw Steve Boxall win the Silver Ski Holidays Championship at Central Park, Sittingbourne.

Illness forced David Mason to withdraw from the event, an individual competition which comprised 12 qualifying heats, two semi-finals and a grand final.

Boxall and Kasper Lykke both had maximum points after six heats before Boxall went out on his own.

He finished the qualifying rounds with 12 points ahead of Luke Bowen (10), Lykke (9), Ben Morley (8) and Benji Compton (7).

Boxall won the first semi-final, with the second won by Bowen. They were joined in the grand final by Compton and Morley.

True to form, Boxall won the final race of the evening to take the championship, with Bowen second and Compton third.

Kings end their debut season away to Stoke on October 20.
