SITTINGBOURNE Crusaders welcome the Stoke Spitfires to the Old Gun Site for their second Conference League clash this weekend.

And team manager Chris Hunt is anxious to get the Kent side's season off the ground.

He said: "There's no hiding from the fact that our first Conference League match was a disappointment.

"We really need to improve on that performance. I'm optimistic that we can do so against Stoke.

Meanwhile, home-grown star Mark Baseby has been busy since the Crusaders' last match competing in his first British Under 21 championship final and will be looking to consolidate his growing status as one of the division's top young talents.

The clash gets underway at noon on Sunday.
