James Tredwell has been named in England's 13-man squad for two t20 clashes with Australia later this month.

The spinner could face Australia at Southampton on August 29 and at Durham two days later.

The 31-year-old Kent skipper was actually named skipper for the weather-hit last match of the t20 series with New Zealand at the end of June in place of the injured Eoin Morgan.

Tredwell is also hoping for a call-up to the one-day squad which is expected to be named after this week's final Ashes Test at The Oval.

England are set to play a warm-up game against Ireland in Dublin on September 3 before a five-match Natwest series against the Australians which starts on September 6 at Headingley.

The Romney Marsh ace has made 19 one-day international appearances for England, including five this summer. He has also played seven international t20s taking three wickets at 55 runs apiece.
