Phil 'Mister Maker' Gallagher steps out with Simon Dolby of the KM Charity Team to promote the KM Charity Walk on June 28.

Phil, famous for his crafty creations under the guise of CBeebies’ Mister Maker, is urging people to sign up for the family friendly event.

He said: "The annual KM Charity Walk has been a major fundraising event supporting excellent causes in the county for two decades. I am delighted to help support this event and encourage KentOnline readers to take part.

“There is no better leisure activity than to take a walk through Kent's beautiful countryside, and if that can help a good cause at the same time, so much the better."

The star, who earlier this year performed a series of sold out shows as Mister Maker at Australia’s Sydney Opera House, is also an Honorary Patron of the KM Charity Team – the organisers of the walk.

The KM Charity Walk is a 10-mile circular route starting from the Grade II listed mansion Mote House and going to leading Kent attraction Leeds Castle. Walkers can opt for a five-mile route or the full 10-mile trip.

There will be goody bags and medals at the finish line followed by a garden party with BBQ, drinks and a live string quartet in the grounds of the mansion.

Key partners of the event include Specsavers and Cotswold Outdoor Maidstone.

Event organiser Sophie Wallace of the KM Charity Team said the walk was not to be missed.

“Join in the fun and celebrations – it’s going to be a fantastic day and a great opportunity to raise funds for your favourite charity,” she said.
