The annual KM Charity Walk is one of the county's favourite events of its kind, raising more than £800k for good causes over the last two decades.

Any good cause can use the event to raise funds for their organisation, even if they are not a registered charity.

Cathy Sargent, Maidstone Ramblers walk leader said: "It's a brilliant way to get exercise while supporting the charity of your choice. On offer is both a 5 mile and 10 mile walk and they finish up at Grade II listed, Mote House where there is a garden party to follow, so not only do you get the walk but a great party afterwards."

The KM Charity Walk will be staged in Maidstone linking the Grade II listed Georgian mansion, Mote House, to Leeds Castle on Sunday, 25 June, 2017. Readers can receive a discount when booking their place online using code KMNEWS17.

Simon Dolby of KM Charity Team said: “We’re hoping to smash all previous records for number of walkers and money raised for good causes. It’s a great opportunity for family, friends and colleagues to get together for a day out that combines getting active, having fun and taking in the stunning Kent scenery. This feels even better when combined with sponsorship for charity!”

Participants’ sponsorship proceeds will be divided into a 70-30 split between the good cause of their choice and the children’s road safety work of the KM Charity Team respectively.

The KM Charity Walk 2017 is also supported by Mote House, Simply Ice Cream, Glosrose and Gullands solicitors.
