Beluga Bar to reopen in Bank Street, Maidstone, as German bierkeller

From Beluga Bar to Bavaria, a disused nightclub will reopen this weekend having been transformed into a German bierkeller.

The 1,150-capacity popular Bank Street venue closed in 2015 leading to a decline in Maidstone’s night life, with neighbouring Banks Bar calling it a day shortly after and Barker Road’s Wonderland shutting later that year.

A year later a lease for the three-storey building was up for grabs priced at £110,000.

The bierkeller will offer an alternative to the town’s current pubs and clubs when it opens on Friday, March 3, with 10 draught and 80 bottled beers available as well as cocktail steins and traditional food.

It will be the fourth bierkeller opened by the Fever Group, which also runs Tunbridge Wells club Moo Moo, and is set to be the biggest.
