A bin lorry caught alight doing its weekly rounds this afternoon.
Part of Forest Hill in Maidstone was blocked by the vehicle, just after 1.30pm.
A spokesperson from Kent Fire and Rescue Service said: "The contents of the vehicle, consisting mostly of paper and cardboard, had self-combusted, resulting in a fire in the cargo area of the vehicle."
Two fire engines were sent to the scene.
The fire was out by 2.30pm.
