A broken down lorry caused huge delays on a busy route.

Traffic was held on the northbound carriageway of the A249 while the HGV is being recovered with the help of police after the incident at about 1.15pm.

The vehicle was blocking the road near the Stockbury roundabout at Junction 5 of the M2.

Traffic started returning to normal shortly after 2pm.
