Kent Police Chief Constable Alan Pughsley joins celebrities including Patrick Stewart and George W Bush in taking the ice bucket challenge

Kent's two most senior police officers each had a bin full of icy water dumped on them for charity as part of the ice bucket challenge that's sweeping the internet.

Chief Constable Alan Pughsley and Deputy Chief Constable Paul Brandon were nominated by Inspector Amanda Tillotson.

Staff at Kent Police Headquarters in Maidstone helped drench the pair, and firefighters from Kent Fire and Rescue Service even made a surprise appearance with a hose.

The Chief Constable donated to Motor Neurone Disease Association and Kent Victim Support.

The Deputy Chief Constable also gave to the Motor Neurone Disease Association as well as The Wyvern School for people with severe learning difficulties in Ashford.
