A228 crash between Leybourne and Snodland causing delays

A crash involving a cyclist caused long delays on the A228.

Emergency services were sent to the scene with the incident having a knock-on effect on the main northbound carriageway between Leybourne and Snodland.

The rider has been taken to hospital but his injuries are not thought to be serious.

Queues built throughout the area between Leybourne Way and Hays Road after the the crash in Malling Road in Snodland.

The incident was reported at around 4.20pm and is close to the Shell garage.

A police spokesman said: "A cyclist has fallen from his bike and been taken to hospital.

"Injuries are not serious and no other vehicles involved. It was reported to us at 4.20pm."

Kent Highways said the delays cleared at around 6.10pm.
