Man suffers serious head injuries after Vauxhall Corsa crashes in Winchet Hill in Goudhurst near Tunbridge Wells

A man has suffered serious head injuries after a car crashed in Goudhurst last night.

The victim, believed to be in his 30s, had to be cut free from the Vauxhall Corsa by firefighters using hydraulic rescue equipment at 7.45pm.

He was then taken to King's College Hospital, in London, by a car operated by the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance.

Only one car was involved in the crash, which left Winchet Hill closed until 11pm.

An additional two ambulances and two cars were sent to the scene by the South East Coast Ambulance Service.

Fire crews left the scene at 9.10pm.

Police have launched an investigation into the cause of the crash.
