Two separate incidents caused travel misery for commuters in Maidstone.
Police were called to the A229 at Palace Avenue at around 11.30am, where a lane was closed while a driver was stopped for having an expired licence.
But at 12.40pm, less than 20 minutes after it had re-opened, a crash blocked a lane on the same road at Fairmedow heading towards Bishops Ways.
The carriageway was cleared by 12.50pm.
