There were long rush hour delays on a number of main routes around Maidstone this morning.

Slow moving traffic was reported on the M20 London-bound between J7 for Detling and J4 for Leybourne.

It contributed to queues stretching back on the A249 up to Detling Hill and on the A228 towards the Running Horse Roundabout.

There were also delays on the A20 in Larkfield, due to faulty traffic lights at the junction with New Hythe Lane.

There was also slow moving traffic on the A228 Castle Way from Snodland to the M20 J4 roundabout, where roadworks are underway to widen the bridge.
