Elton John at the Kent Showground: What time does it start, where can you park and what will the weather be like?

Thousands of people will be heading to Kent's biggest outdoor concert in years when Elton John plays the Kent Showground on Sunday.

All the essential information about parking, transport and times is below - and you can also download a map of the site, including a seating plan, by clicking the link at the end of the story.

The concert will be the first time Elton has appeared in the county since a sell-out show at Canterbury’s St Lawrence cricket ground in June 2006.

The showground is off Junction 5 of the M2 and Junction 7 of the M20.

The car park will open at 2pm and is a short walk away from the arena, but spaces must be booked in advance. You can book your space by calling 08448 244824 between 8.30am and 8pm weekdays or 9am to 8pm at weekends.

Alternatively, you can book your space by calling the Kent Event Centre at the showground direct on 01622 633064 between 8.30am and 4.30pm weekdays only.

The nearest train stations are Maidstone East and Maidstone West, both of which are a taxi ride away from the venue. However, driving is strongly recommended owing to Sunday train times. You can check your train times here.

Gates to the arena itself will open at 4pm and the concert will begin at 6pm. Seating is uncovered and promoters are advising people to bring appropriate clothing. You can check the latest weather forecast here.

There will be a variety of food and drink available at the site, but there are no cash machines so it is recommended you bring money with you.
