Seven arrested, four charged after possible armed robbery in Lenham

Seven people have been arrested and four charged as officers investigate a possible armed robbery in Lenham, near Maidstone.

Police were called to reports that a group of men had burgled a property in Forstal Road at 11.40pm on Tuesday, April 26.

It was reported that one of the group may have been in possession of a firearm.

Four men have each been charged with three counts of aggravated burglary and one count of grievous bodily harm.

They are Darren Myers, 30, of Valley Road, Tunbridge Wells; Lee George Baker, 23, of Hoad Road, Eastbourne; Nana Danquah, 31, of The Shrublands, Potters Bar; and Aaron Mayers, 31, of Wick Road, South Hackney.

Myers has also been charged with possessing a prohibited firearm and possessing a firearm when banned from doing so for life.

All four have been remanded in custody.

Mayers and Danquah will appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Friday, May 27. Baker and Myers will appear at the same court on Monday, May 31.

A further three people have been arrested in connection with the reported burglary.

They are a 22-year-old man from Tunbridge Wells, a 20-year-old man of no fixed address and a 20-year-old woman of no fixed address.

They have all been bailed, pending further inquiries, until Tuesday, June 21.
