Friends pay tribute to former Rainham woman Heather Johnson who was found dead in Fernhill Road, Barming

A devoted mother who was loved by friends has been found dead at a home in Barming.

Police were called to the property in Fernhill Road, Maidstone, at 6.50pm on Friday.

The woman has been named locally as mother-of-one Heather Johnson.

Ms Johnson, who had recently celebrated her 37th birthday, grew up in Rainham.

Friends have paid tribute on social media, with a group set up to share memories and photos.

Simon Welsh, a manager at The Source Bar, Rose Yard in Maidstone said: "She was one of our longest serving customers, she had been a regular for 11 years.

"She would be at every party night we had and was like a member of the family. It feels like we've lost a family member.

"We were expecting her to be at the party this weekend and I was devastated when I heard the news."

Shelly Allen, a friend of Ms Johnson said: "She was the kindest person you could have met. She would do anything for anyone.

"Her son meant the world to her and that makes it all the more devastating."

Meanwhile Luisa Parrett paid tribute: "To my special friend Heather, you were taken from us too soon.

"You helped me through some tough times and I will never forget that. RIP my darling."

Another friend, Kelly Duke, said: "RIP my bright, bubbly, loving friend. God has one more star up in heaven."

Claire Bennett added her condolences: "Still can't believe that I'm not going to see that big beautiful smile, hear that infectious laugh or dance the night away until the sun comes up!"

The death is not being treated as suspicious and officers are preparing a report for the coroner.
