Good Samaritan Juliette Izli reunited with the family she helped at their Maidstone home after dramatic Wateringbury train station birth

A woman who gave birth in a train station car park has been reunited with the Good Samaritan who rushed to her aid.

Katey Dingwall and partner Richard Tompsett were travelling to Tunbridge Wells Hospital when the 27-year-old mother of three’s waters broke.

Mr Tompsett, a builder, pulled into the car park at Wateringbury train station and delivered healthy baby girl Taylor just after 9pm last Monday while being coached on the phone by paramedics.

Juliette Izli, who lives opposite the Bow Road station, took blankets and a duvet to the couple and was in the process of making a cup of tea for Miss Dingwall when the ambulance arrived and the pair had to leave before they could thank her.

On Wednesday Miss Dingwall, Mr Tompsett, baby Taylor and Mrs Izli were reunited at the couple’s Grove Road, Maidstone, home.

Mrs Izli said: “I was taking my son to Scouts and I heard some commotion.

"When I came back and I parked the car I heard the chap saying I can see the baby’s head.

“Thank goodness I didn’t have to deliver the baby.

“I can’t even watch Call the Midwife.”

She added: “They did seem calm and in control of the situation though. The father was very good, he didn’t seem to be panicking.”
