Striker Lloyd Blackman has become the latest player to leave Maidstone United.
The 24-year-old, who scored 11 goals for the club last season, has been linked with a move to Ryman League Division 1 South side Croydon Athletic.
Joint-manager Alan Walker said: "We made Lloyd an offer but couldn’t afford to keep him. I know he has spoken to a few clubs and wish him all the best."
Meanwhile, goalkeeper Steve Northwood has rejoined Division 1 North Thamesmead for a third time. He was understudy to player-of-the-year Andy Walker last season, who joined Billericay late last week.
Alan Walker added: "We are talking to players but I don’t think anything will happen in the next few days."
Speaking about the move to Ashford, he said: "We had a great time at Sittingbourne and are very grateful to them for all their help in the seven years we have been there. The chairman has done a deal with Ashford which benefits Maidstone United.
"They have done a lot of work on the pitch and the facilities are excellent. Travelling is about the same distance."
Walker was back in Belfast this week to consult the specialist who treated him following the accident which left him temporarily paralysed two years ago.
