Officers arrested a 37-year-old man following an appeal into a serious assault in Maidstone.

A man in his 50s suffered a number of injuries to his face, after he was reportedly attacked in Week Street on Wednesday, May 10.

It is alleged a bottle or glass tumbler was smashed into his face.

A CCTV image of a person wanted in connection with the assault was issued by detectives as part of an appeal.

Yesterday, a Maidstone man was arrested.

He has now been released, pending further investigation.
