A man has been arrested after crashing into police in a stolen car while travelling towards London on the M20.

The driver of a stolen Ford Mondeo collided with police, coming to a halt shortly after the crash before fleeing on foot.

A 34-year-old man from Thamesmead was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and failing to stop after a collision and remains in police custody.

The car was reported stolen yesterday at around 1pm while the owner was unloading shopping in Hollingbourne.
