A spokesman for the South East Coast Ambulance Service said: “A call came into us just before 9.50am following reports of a man who had been found collapsed.

“We are not sure whether he was in a vehicle or in the road. He required medical attention and we sent two cars and an ambulance to the scene.

“A fire vehicle also attended as the fire service co-responded. We assisted and treated a man aged in his 70s before he was taken to Maidstone Hospital.”
