Maidstone: Police appeal after man assaulted in town centre in King Street and Gabriel’s Hill

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was left needing surgery for serious facial injuries following two assaults in Maidstone town centre.

The victim was reportedly attacked by two men during separate incidents.

Two people have since been arrested and bailed in connection with the alleged attacks.

In the first incident the victim was standing among other people in King Street, opposite the junction to Wyke Manor Road, where it was reported that he was punched in the side of his face.

Shortly after, as the victim walked towards Gabriel’s Hill, it was reported that he was punched in the head again, this time by a different man.

The victim has since required surgery after suffering several facial fractures and damage to his teeth.

Police are appealing for information from anyone who may have witnessed either of the assaults, which happened between 3.20am and 3.40am on Sunday, January 17.

The victim was wearing a white short sleeved t-shirt and jeans at the time.

An 18-year-old Maidstone man and a 32-year-old from Epsom were arrested in connection with the assaults.

They have both been bailed until March 8.
