A man was rescued from a tree after he was swept away by flood water in Tonbridge.

Crews from Kent Fire and Rescue Service were called to help the man in Ensfield Road, Leigh, at 2pm today.

Firefighters used a boat to reach the man and bring him to dry land.

He was given first aid at the scene but did not need further medical treatment.

Emergency services have attended hundreds of weather-related call outs since yesterday afternoon.
