A 15-year-old boy from Maidstone who went missing for five days has returned home safe and well.

Fears were growing for Alan Gulsen, who had not been seen since Monday, December 9.

An appeal for help was issued as his family and police were concerned for his safety.

He returned home of his own accord on Friday and is understood to have spent the week staying with a friend.

A Kent Police spokesman confirmed Alan was discovered well.
