Man injured and lane closed after lorries collide on M20 between Maidstone and Ashford

Drivers are facing severe delays this lunchtime following a crash on the M20.

Two lorries collided on the coast-bound carriageway of the motorway between junction 8 for Maidstone and junction 9 for Ashford.

A Kent Police spokesperson said: "Officers are currently at the scene where a man is being treated for minor injuries.

"One lane is closed and drivers are advised there will be some congestion until the vehicles are recovered."

A Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson added: "Fire crews helped to release a man who was trapped inside the cab of a lorry, on a bank at the side of the carriageway.

"He was released and passed into the care of SECAmb."
