The Maidstone club was quick to say it searched all attendants at the gig.

A post appearing to come from director Devon Modell, suggests the Bank Street club could be put up for sale.

The post reads: "I'm not happy to say this but would rather you hear it from us first.

"Following the events of last weekend and the social media campaign since, we have decided to close the club under current ownership.

"We hope that a buyer for the club can be found quickly and we are sure they would want to keep all of you on."

A petition to close the nightclub down under its current management has gained thousands of signatures online.

Mr Modell added that it would honour all external events wishing to keep bookings at the venue, while staff scheduled to work this weekend will still be paid.

When approached for comment by KentOnline, Mr Modell said he would not be commenting "out of respect for the family of Andre Bent".
