Parents have been left without answers after a nursery suddenly closed during the weekend.

The Poppets Montessori Day Nursery, Malling Road, was boarded up on Saturday.

Parents and staff had to idea it was due to close.

Hayley Parker said: "My daughter has been with Poppets since she was six months old. She is now three and is very upset that she will no longer be attending Poppets and seeing the staff that she has grown very fond of.

"As a full time working parent I feel very angry and upset that this has happened without any prior warning."

Other parents have said they have been told the company went into administration and have been left out of pocket after paying fees upfront.

Stacy Pearce, whose 20-month-year-old son attended Poppets, said: "I am very angry and upset as I only paid my fees on Friday for the month in advance. I have also lost my deposit that I paid when my son first started.

"Obviously the owner knew what was happening, but yet she has taken people's money and no one has heard from her offering any type of refund."
