The London-bound M20 Junctions 4 and 5 will close for overnight resurfacing work from tonight for two weeks

Motorists will be forced to take diversions as sections of two Kent motorways are shut for overnight roadworks from tonight.

Part of the London-bound carriageway of the M20 will be closed for resurfacing work.

The M20 between junction 4 (Leybourne) and junction 5 (Aylesford) will be closed between 8pm and 6am from tonight until Friday, May 1, as part of scheduled work by the Highways Agency.

A fully signed diversion will be in place using junction 6 (Maidstone).

Meanwhile, the westbound M26 will be shut overnight from junction 2a to junction 5 of the M25 until Saturday 9 May for resurfacing work.

The work will take place on weeknights only between 10pm and 5.30am (Monday – Thursday) and between 11pm and 6am (Friday).

A diversion will be in place via the A25 and A20 to join the M25 at junction 3.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time for their journeys.
