Kent Police thank public for the immense support they have shown in the hunt for Pat Lamb, last seen in Maidstone town centre

At midnight family and friends of Pat Lamb will change their facebook and twitter photos to a picture of the missing engineer, last seen on a night out in Maidstone.

They are urging supporters to do the same to raise awareness of the continuing search for the 28-year-old.

Mr Lamb's sister Zoe says the family will not stop searching until he is found.

Tomorrow they will place two large banners in distinctive locations for passing motorists to see, with Bluewater and Lakeside shopping centres potential areas.

Zoe said: "Tomorrow we will find some good hot spots to put them up where a large majority of drivers will be able to see him and hopefully get more crucial information.

"It's less likely people will keep looking out for his face if we don't keep it in the public eye.

"Until Patrick's found we will continue to keep the public aware that he is missing and he does need to be found.

"If Patrick is out there and he wants time away from things that's completely understandable.

"We are all supporting him as a family but he does need to let us know."

The 28-year-old has not been seen since he disappeared on a night out in Maidstone nearly a month ago.

Earlier today Pat Lamb's family released a separate appeal calling for him to return home.

In it father Tony Lamb said: "Patrick I need you back, your Mum needs you back. The whole family needs you back."

.

The family also plan to create a video that re-enacts the night Pat went missing.

His brother Paul will wear similar clothes to the ones Pat wore on the night he disappeared and he will cover the route taken by the broadcast engineer.

The family also want to get their search trending on social media.

At midnight they want supporters to change their profile picture to the missing poster picture being used before posting a status that includes the hashtag #‎findpatlamb? .

Earlier today police thanked the public for the immense support they have shown in the search for Pat Lamb.

The force is continuing to carry out daily searches of the river although extensive searches on foot and of CCTV footage have proven to be fruitless.

Chief inspector Susie Harper said: "The public response to this missing person appeal has been immense, and I know that Patrick’s family and girlfriend Natasha are extremely grateful for the support they have received from the public.

"Lots of people have volunteered their own time over the Christmas and New Year period to help the family with searches and that is great to see.

"We would appeal directly to Patrick that if he is safe and simply seeking some “time out” that he should make contact with us so we can ensure he is well and let his family know.

"Lots of possible sightings have been reported on social media sites and I would ask that if anyone has information regarding Patrick’s whereabouts that they call police directly on 101 so we can assess the information immediately.

"I am personally grateful for the social mobilisation of such generosity of time, energy and expertise; I feel this is a way in which society can really make a difference to people’s lives."
