A man was left with injuries to his face and legs after he was assaulted in Maidstone.

Police are now asking for anyone with information about what happened to contact them after two men are reported to have kicked and punched the man, who needed hospital treatment.

The incident happened in Week Street between 5.30am and 6am on Tuesday, June 27, after the victim was thought to have been offered drugs by the suspects.

He said he refused and attempted to walk away before he was attacked.

Officers attended the scene and inquiries led to the arrest of an 18-year-old man from Maidstone, on suspicion of assault. He was later released while further investigations are carried out.
