Motorcyclist treated after crash involving motorbike and car in Stanford Drive, near Tonbridge Road

A woman is receiving treatment after a car and motorbike collided in Tonbridge Road this afternoon.

The crash happened at around 5pm and led to a section of the road being closed.

It remains blocked, and police are managing the traffic.

A woman, who was on the motorbike, is being treated for back pain.

It is thought the collision may have involved a taxi.

Neighbouring resident Kemi Adams said: "My children and I were sitting in the house and were thinking the road seemed quiet.

"When I looked outside I saw the road was closed and there was a lady on a stretcher."

A worker at nearby Maidstone Best Kebab said he thought the bike had been able to slow down when the car slowed to make a turn.

Police and paramedics are at the scene.
