Kent Fire and Rescue Service rescued four cats from flat fire in Tennison Way, Maidstone

Three kittens and a cat were rescued after a flat caught fire in Maidstone this morning.

Crews were called by a neighbour after smoke was seen coming from the Tennison Way property.

Two fire engines arrived at the scene at 9.40am with firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguishing flames and clearing the flat of smoke.

There are no reports of any injuries and the cause is currently unknown, but firefighters did rescue a cat and three kittens.

Crews left the scene at 10am.
