Tonbridge Athletics Club juniors clinch honours during national cross country event in Mansfield

Tonbridge AC took two team titles at the National Cross Country Relays at Berry Hill Park, Mansfield on Saturday.

The under-13 boys’ and under-17 men’s races were won by Tonbridge with four individual performances listed in the top ten fastest times of the day.

The under-13 boys were 19 seconds clear of Team Bath after the sterling efforts of James Puxty (7.22), Charles Crick (7.06) and Thomas Kendrick (7.10). Crick was fourth fastest overall and Kendrick seventh.

The under-17 men had a tough battle with Liverpool Harriers but were seven seconds ahead, through Max Nicholls (9.31), George Duggan (9.18) and Sean Molloy (9.24). Duggan (6th) and Molloy (10th) featured on the fastest overall.

Tonbridge finished fourth in the junior men’s relay with the winners Shaftesbury Barnet Harriers only 16 seconds ahead. Charlie Joslin-Allen (9.07), Henry Pearce (8.59) and Luca Russo (9.09) were the trio unlucky to miss medals.
