Kent Fire and Rescue Service cut man and woman free from cars after crash in Malling Road, Teston

A man and a woman were treated by medics after they were cut free from cars involved in an early morning crash.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to Malling Road, Teston, near Maidstone, to the two-car crash at around 5.45am.

Two fire engines attended and crews used the jaws of life to remove the roofs of both vehicles, freeing a man and a woman trapped inside.

They were handed into the care of SECAmb paramedics who treated them.

A SECAmb spokesperson said: "We were called to Malling Road just after 5.30am to reports of a crash, to which we sent two ambulances and three cars.

"Two patients were at the scene, one with abdominal pain and one with back pain.

"Both were assessed and treated before being taken to Tunbridge Wells Hospital."
