Maidstone United manager Jay Saunders respects Bromley's success going into derby clash

Maidstone face Kent rivals Bromley at the Gallagher tonight (Tuesday, 7.45pm).

Stones are out to emulate the Lillywhites' success in comfortably negotiating their first year in the National League.

And while Neil Smith's team haven't made the best of starts to their second campaign, they have plenty of quality.

Stones manager Jay Saunders said: "They'll be a decent side. They're a side that have got pace out wide and score goals from wide positions.

"They obviously had a good season last year and Neil's taken over and he's got some dangerous players.

"You've got to give them credit for what they've done. To finish around mid-table, it's not easy to do in this league.

"They do three mornings, so they do a little bit more training than us - we're still two nights - but we're competing and it's another game that we've got to go out and show what we're capable of."

Reece Hall-Johnson is likely to replace the suspended Jack Evans at right-back, while Jamie Coyle continues at centre-half alongside Kevin Lokko, with Anthony Acheampong (hamstring) still sidelined.

Coyle has been excellent in Acheampong's absence.

Saunders said: "He's probably good for Lokko to play alongside because he's got that experience and he talks the whole game.

"It's lovely for me. I think this is the first time I've really had three top-drawer centre-halves.

"Don't get me wrong, in the Ryman Prem we had Sonny Miles, Steve Watt and Coyley - but having Ach and being able to leave him out and have Coyley coming in is a massive bonus for us."
