Boreham Wood chairman Danny Hunter blasts 'rude, vociferous and unfair' Maidstone United fans

Boreham Wood chairman Danny Hunter accused Maidstone fans of rudeness before the sides’ FA Trophy tie last Saturday.

Mr Hunter angered supporters at the league game in August by charging Stones Live radio to broadcast from the ground.

It caused a stir, with travelling fans boycotting the catering facilities.

Mr Hunter, writing in his programme notes ahead of the 0-0 draw, said: “Today’s visiting supporters are loyal and I have had huge respect for them in the past.

“But I feel since their promotion, they have been quite rude, vociferous and unfair to our club on both their fans’ forum and Twitter.

“They were it seems upset about our decision here to charge a broadcast fee to any outside companies for either a radio or video broadcast.”

Boreham Wood won Tuesday night's replay 3-2.
