It will all be a blur for Maidstone United striker Dumebi Dumaka if he scores winning goal against York City

Dumebi Dumaka might want to record BT Sport’s coverage of Maidstone v York.

Dumaka may be good at finding the net but he’s not so hot when it comes to remembering his goals.

The striker scored six times in 13 appearances for the Stones last season, including the last-gasp extra-time equaliser in the National South play-off final.

Before that, 24 goals for Ryman League Grays saw him heavily linked with West Ham in the January transfer window.

His stats make impressive reading but Dumaka said: “I’m not sure if I’m a natural scorer. Sometimes I think I am, sometimes not.

“I don’t often remember goals I score so because of that I probably wouldn’t say I’m a natural scorer.

“I’m just not one to remember, I have no idea why.

“I know I can score goals, I like scoring goals but I don’t really dwell on them.”

Dumaka effortlessly made the transition from Ryman League to National South and is confident both he and the team will perform stepping up again.

He’s unfazed by the prospect of coming up against full-time defenders.

He said: “They’re probably thinking what do they have to do against me!

“I’ve got every confidence I can carry on scoring goals.

“It might take a bit of tweaking my game but it’s only going to make me better.

“We’ve got a good squad and as long as we start the season well and keep doing what we were doing last season, we’ll be fine.”
