Dumebi Dumaka set to return to Stones squad for St Albans clash

Dumebi Dumaka is ready to rejoin Maidstone’s promotion push as the club’s injury list eases.

Dumaka has missed the last two games with an ankle injury but a scan showed only minor ligament damage and, if physio Paul Smith is happy, the in-form striker could play at St Albans on Saturday.

Stones boss Jay Saunders said: “It’s an old injury that’s flared up with DD, nothing fresh and we’re hoping he should be able to play with it strapped up.

“He had the results of the scan on Tuesday and went for a second opinion on Wednesday.

“The specialist told him there’s no operation needed, it might be that he needs a little clean-up in the summer.

“He’ll see Smudge and we’ll see what he says but it’s one where he should be able to play.

“Whether that means he plays on Saturday or Tuesday, I’m not sure but with rest and physio he should be OK.”

Joe Healy (knee) and Callum Driver (foot) should be fit after sitting out the Easter Monday defeat at Chelmsford, while Alex Flisher (back) is also available.
