Maidstone United have been given planning permission to almost double the size of the main stand at the Gallagher Stadium.

Stones intend to start work on the 350-seat extension at the end of the season and hope it will be finished in time for the 2015-16 campaign.

Co-owner Terry Casey said: "This is a really important project for the football club and to get the plans through without any conditions is a reward for all the hard work that went in to preparing our submission.

"During the close season we can get work started and enhance the facilities to provide more comfort for our supporters.”
