Frustrated Brent Osborne didn’t bother going to hospital after injuring his hand in sparring – he knew it was broken.

And the Maidstone super-middleweight says he only has himself to blame for the injury as he doesn’t always punch properly.

Osborne was forced to pull out of his bout against Iain Jackson last month and is unlikely to fight again until March.

The 24-year-old hasn’t fought since losing on his professional debut in April and he’s allowing the hand to heal on its own after steering clear of doctors.

Osborne said: “I’ve had so many injured hands in the past that I’ve stopped going to hospital because all they do is X-ray it and tell you to rest.

“I’m sure it’s fractured. I caught the bloke on top of his head and felt the hand go. It’s my own fault because when I relax, I tend to throw my shots without fully clenching.

Osborne is finding it difficult to maintain general fitness without a fight to prepare for and said: “Every time I think I’m getting somewhere, something happens.

“There’s a show on December 13 that I’d like to be involved in but realistically I’m looking at March.”
