Maidstone United midfielder Joe Healy's absence from FA Cup clash with Yeovil Town a blow, says manager Jay Saunders

Key man Joe Healy will be missing when Maidstone look to follow in Manchester United’s footsteps.

Healy picked up his fifth booking of the season a fortnight ago and serves a one-game ban when Stones host Yeovil in the FA Cup first round on Sunday.

It took Premier League giants United to knock out the Glovers last season - that’s the size of the task facing Jay Saunders’ side and they could do with having Healy available.

But Jack Paxman is back from suspension and will partner James Rogers in central midfield.

Saunders said: “It’s a big blow being without Joe. He’s been one of our best signings.

“A lot of people might not realise what he does but he keeps us ticking over, he’s got good experience, a calm head, always wants the ball, he’s great around the dressing room and the boys love him."

Callum Driver is set to return at right-back after recovering from the dead leg that kept him out at Concord. That means Jamie Coyle is likely to revert to centre-half alongside Manny Parry, with captain Steve Watt back on the bench.

United have already earned £24,500 in prize money, with £18,000 at stake against Yeovil.

They will also receive £12,500 in television cash, with the game one of eight featured ties on BBC’s Final Score programme.
